Come as you are

God says Come To Him As You Are

God says come to Him just as you are.

Sadly, I ran away from God for many wasteful years. It’s not that I didn’t believe in God; I did. But I was a rebel, wanting to live my life in any which way I pleased. I didn’t want God – or anyone else – telling me what I could, or could not do. Long story short, I made a mess of my life and got into all sorts of trouble.

It’s not that I didn’t know better either. I had a good moral upbringing. My parents baptized me when I was a baby in the Roman Catholic church, which I attended throughout my boyhood. But when I became a teenager, I changed for the worse. I got involved with drugs, illicit sex, and all manner of self-destructive behavior.

Fortunately, God never gave up on me.

He sent many Christians into my life to help me, and to teach me about His love and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. I finally repented and received Christ as my Savior and Lord. I was “born again” and experienced a radical life transformation by the power of the Holy Spirit. It was the best decision I have ever made. As I look back now I wish I had done it sooner and avoided so much pain and suffering which I brought upon myself.

One of the reasons I ran away from God for those many years is because I wrongly believed God was angry at me. I pictured Him ready to strike me down with a lightning bolt and send me to hell for eternity. That wasn’t the case at all; I had a distorted view and understanding of God. I discovered that He was not a cruel and vengeful God, but merciful, forgiving and loving. Like a good Father, He was patiently waiting for me to recognize the error of my ways and come to Him for salvation and deliverance.

What about you?

Are you ready to turn your life over to God? Have you had enough of your rebellious living and self-inflicted unhappiness? Why not come to Him today? He will receive you just as you are. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in the past. God has been patiently waiting for you too with His open arms of love and forgiveness. Pray and ask Jesus Christ to become your Savior and Lord. You’ll be glad you did!

God Is Not Sadistic

Eternal Torment_jpg“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” — John 3:17

Many Christian religious sects mistakenly portray almighty God as a cruel, sadistic deity in the sky who takes pleasure in the suffering and death of the wicked.

Nothing could be further from the truth!

Jesus confirmed this when He said in John 3:17 that our Heavenly Father loves us and sent His Son to save humanity, not to condemn it. Because God is love, His actions are motivated by love. He is merciful and kind and does not take pleasure in watching people suffer or supposedly burn in hell throughout eternity. This false doctrine of eternal torment was invented by sadistic men and religious impostors who corrupted the true message of Christ.

The difference between eternal destruction and eternal torment.

Eternal torment for the wicked is NOT biblical. However, eternal destruction IS. After the final judgement, men who refused the love and salvation of God and persisted in evil works and deeds will be destroyed in the Lake of Fire, along with Satan and his demons. But that will be the end of them, since God is also just and must judge the unrighteous. For evil doers, there will be no future existence nor reincarnation nor any kind of consciousness. Only the righteous will live forever with Jesus in the New Heavens and the New Earth.

Let us pray that God will deliver us today from every form of sin that entangles our actions and pollutes our hearts so that we may be counted worthy of His mercy, forgiveness and salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

Let us redeem the precious time here in this short life and invest it well for the kingdom of God. When Christ returns, eternal peace and happiness will be our reward. Furthermore, no eye has ever seen or ear has ever heard what God has planned for those that love Him and are odedient to His will (1 Cor. 2:9).
