Unwrapping God’s Gift To You

Happy HolidaysThis holiday season is characterized by joy, peace and goodwill towards others and the giving of gifts. It truly is a wonderful time of year for family and friends to get together and share the spirit of Christmas!

Yet, the greatest gift of all was given to us over 2,000 years ago when Jesus Christ, the Messiah, was born so that He could become the Savior of all who believe in Him.

“For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son [Jesus Christ], that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

The real reason for the Christmas season is to remind us – and others – about the Good News that God gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, as a free gift to a lost and hurting humanity who needed salvation.

We unwrap this gift by placing our faith in the Son of God and receiving Him as the Lord and Savior of our life. This gift of pardon from our sins is available to all, regardless of where we’ve come from or what we’ve done in the past. Too many celebrate Christmas without accepting His free gift of salvation. God’s gift goes unwrapped year after year after year.

How about this year? A fresh new start is available to you today. Won’t you unwrap God’s free gift to you? Pray the following prayer right now and invite Jesus Christ into your life.

“Dear heavenly Father, I thank You for loving me and sending your only Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for my sins. Today, I humble myself before You and repent of my sinful ways. I ask for your forgiveness – for all the bad things I’ve done in the past. I invite Jesus Christ to become my Savior and Lord, and help me to become a better person from this day forth. Amen.”

God Became A Man

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” — John 1:14

During this time of year most of the Christian world celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. The truth is, no one knows the exact day and month Jesus was actually born since the Bible never documents this detail. The important thing to focus on is this: that God came down from heaven and took on the form of man, in order to die on the cross for our sins.

The apostle John called Jesus the “Word.”

He was the logos, the embodiment of God’s message to us – a lost and sinful humanity. His message was clear: Unless you repent and turn back to God you will be lost for eternity. “There is only one way back to God the Father”, Jesus said, “and only one truth and one way to forgiveness from sin and eternal life, and following Me is the only way” (John 14:6).

Jesus, Immanuel (God with us), lived among us, taught us by word and deed how God expects us to live. He was full of grace and truth and we beheld His glory. Finally, He was crucified on the cross to purchase the redemption for all of us who would believe upon Him.

Let us never lose focus of the real reason we celebrate this season of the year. It’s all about Jesus Christ, and the greatest gift that God has given us: His only begotten Son, the holy lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world.

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill among men. We praise You, we bless You, we worship You, we glorify You, we give You thanks for your great glory, Lord Jesus our Savior and King!
