Do not grow tired of doing good

Do not grow tired of doing good

“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. For at just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” – Galatians 6:9

In contrast to the forces of Satan and his evil followers who are always busy doing hurt and causing suffering in the world today, the apostle Paul exhorts us Christians to do good always. The Bible also tells us to bless, and not to curse, to render evil to no man, to be instruments of peace where there is strife and turmoil, and to never get tired of laboring for God’s kingdom.

Yes, I know sometimes we get weary. Sometimes we feel discouraged and fatigued. Sometimes we feel that no one appreciates us (I admit I feel this way sometimes). But we must keep going and continue to move forward, for God appreciates everything we do for Him.

Stay the course

“Stay the course” is a phrase used in the context of a war or battle, meaning, to pursue a goal regardless of any obstacles or criticism. It is a nautical metaphor for maintaining a constant, unfaltering course while navigating throughout our lives in the practice of our Christian faith.

Do not let your hands hang down through lukewarmness or in slothful labor, or in timidity or fear. Keep doing good in everything you can.

Jesus our Lord has promised that we will eventually reap a bountiful harvest for ourselves – and for others – if we do not give up.
